Health Care Managers are also commonly referred to as health care executives or health care administrators. These professionals manage their health care organization and ensure that the organization runs smoothly. In essence, they direct, plan and coordinate and supervise Health Care Workers and Health Care Organizations. They manage personnel, oversee budgets, handle medical records, ensure compliance with legal mandates, and more. According to current research, over 248,000 jobs in 2004 and their employment opportunities are expected to grow at an above average rate.  They typically earn about $67,000 a year. For those professionals that possess a Master’s Degree in Health Care Management, they tend to receive the higher salary in comparison to those with only a Bachelor of Arts Degree.

Education

Healthcare Managers need a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program and might also require a Master’s Degree in long-term care administration, Health Science or Public Administration.
