As previously indicated, there are many opportunities for you. We will now discuss working as a research biologist. Basically as a research biologist, you can work in research and development and will conduct various research experiments to obtain advanced knowledge of organisms and infections. In addition, you may work with a research team or individual to obtain even more findings.  If you choose to work as a biological scientist then you will likely evaluate and make diagnoses or even test new drugs or develop treatment options. You will utilize a variety of tools including computers, microscopes and may work closely with physicians and other medical professionals in order to develop leading biotechnological and medical treatments.

 

Here is a partial list of the different types of biologists and what they might study:

 

  • Biochemists study the chemical composition of living things.
  • Botanists and physiologists study plants. 
  • Ecologists study relationships between organisms and the world around them.
  • Microbiologists study microscopic organisms.  
  • Zoologists study domesticated animals and wildlife
